Born in Windsor, Ontario in 1930, Robert Hedrick had no formal training in art during the first half of his life.
Known for his abstract landscapes, the Globe and Mail commented the paintings featured in his first solo exhibition at The Gallery of Contemporary Art in 1957, “They are poetic, high-class art with a nice balance of subjective and natural inspiration.”
