Sarnia Industries Art Fund Purchase
The portrait of Madame Sicard is one in a series of three portraits of Rose Sicard, a student of Linda Kennedy’s in Paris, France. Rose lived in a small, cramped apartment, where Kennedy would often visit. Kennedy remembers Mme. Sicard as, ‘an energetic, generous personality, full of good humour who loved to share stories of her more comfortable life in Tunisia. Her face is marked with wisdom and maturity born from years of patient suffering.”
Linda Kennedy studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts from 1972-1977, and now lives and paints in Sarnia.
